With the exception of Peter's brthday dinner and Mom's birthday dinner, this has been just a really grim week. Overloaded, overwhelmed on the work front, meetings, Christmas Hoopla (which should be fun, damnit!), continuing major issues with rib subluxation which is causing significant discomfort in my back and sternum, crappy weather (it's raining as I type) and the poor Hewster.
But the kicker occured yesterday morning. I had just dropped off Clemmie at the groomers and was headed back to work. The roads were quite icy (it had rained the night before). I came up upon what looked like a an accident - a pickup truck was off in a snow berm and two cars were right behind it with their emergency lights on. Occupants from all the vehicles were standing beside the truck. As I pulled around the accident, I got a good look at the truck. There was a big brown fuzzy thing pinned under the truck. It took a second, but then it dawned on me - the truck had hit a moose.
I got so sad - I just hate it when moose and cars meet. It doesn't turn out well for any of the participants. At least this moose appeared to be dead - he was not moving at all. I've come across several moose-car accidents where the moose is still alive but mortally injured. Those are heart breaking.

Hewey's display bit the total big one on Thursday morning. Today is the first chance I've had to hook him up to Peter's computer monitor. Which at least provides an opportunity to check on the blog front for a bit.
The plan is this - I'm going to upgrade my desktop, which since Hewey arrived, has defintely been underutilized. My desktop is currently running the very evil hideous Microsoft ME edition of Windows. Microsoft's worst ever OS release. I have an unused version of XP Pro that I'll use for the upgrade. So, I'm going to start the upgrade today.
Once the desktop is upgraded, I'll move my blogging software and everything else over to the desktop. Poor Hewey - he's definitely headed towards the bone yard.
