Joy in Mudville
Elijah and I are Raiders fans, so with 2:42 left in their playoff game with the Jets and our boys up 30-10, we are happy. Especially Elijah, who is whooping and hollering with all the enthusiasm of an eleven-year-old sports guy. It's fun for me--I not only get to follow sports more closely than I have since I got married, I also have a live-in friend to watch the games with.
Of course, I have never quit following Carolina basketball, which is more a religion than a pastime, although I do have more perspective now than I once did. Yesterday's loss at UVA was heartening as it showed the Heels can come back and will be competitive in the ACC without the injured Sean May. This team should make the tourney.
