100 things about me

"A person should hear a little music, read a little poetry, and see a fine picture every day in order that worldly cares may not obliterate the sense of the beautiful that God has implanted in the human soul." - Goethe

Quote of the day

"If you do not know where you are going, any road will take you there."
--Sterling Holloway, voice of Chesire Cat, Alice in Wonderland

My afternoon was spent being poked and probed by French physician and his "wonder wand", and even though the Garfield cartoons taped to the exam room ceiling were intended to be funny and induce relaxation, I drove away tender, sore and cranky for the rest of the day.   In another time and place, perhaps the hands of a Frenchman would lead to a more (ahem) stimulating and pleasant experience, but as far as I was concerned this time, he could bloody well hurry up and get it done with.  Results pending.  Nothing else to contribute tonight.  Cook dinner, watch American Idol, take two aspirin, and blog in the morning.

Rumi

From my mailbox this morning....

The discovery of treasure is by luck,
and even more, it is rare:
one must earn a living
so long as the body is able.
Does earning a livelihood
prevent the discovery of treasure?
Don't retire from work:
that treasure, indeed,
follows after the work.
