Steve Clift is an e-democracy evangelist.  He is initiating the E-Government and Democracy Exchange in January 2004.  The exchange is for e-government experts interested in:

  1. responsive and effective governance 
  2. strengthening citizen trust and satisfaction in government 
  3. promoting government transparency, openness, and accountability increasing government legitmacy and public understanding of government activities 
  4. enhancing electronic public access to government information 
  5. supporting representive institutions and processes online 
  6. building online tools for the official work of elected officials 
  7. ensuring integrated two-way public feedback through e-government service delivery
