And so it goes.

Tonight, I met with the Piatts, my new landlords. They were inspecting things that they'd want to fix when they buy the place. They want to replace the windows, redo the caulking in the bathroom, a couple light fixtures. But that's if we stay. At $1550/mo, an increase of $200/mo.

I will likely be moving Saturday 31 May, 2003. Mark your calendars.

I just don't know where.

This so heartwrenching. I like my apartment. I love the area, the back porch, the front room, the kitchen. I don't want to leave. But I may be forced out by the new landlords' desire to recoup their investment.

Ready To Blow.

I'm struggling under the stressload today, it's been just plain ugly. Between owing the Feds for taxes that weren't calculated right by our accounting department, potentially having to leave my current residential situation due to the building being sold and the rent increasing, and not sleeping practically at all this week, I'm overloaded. Today has been the last straw.

My workplace is throwing a policy forum tomorrow at a conference center at a local university, I won't say which to protect the guilty, I suppose. They've been so very less than helpful with regard to the A/V needs. We're having a panel, with four panelists and a moderator. Each should get a wireless lav, then we'd have a podium mic and a roaming wireless handheld. They said that wasn't a problem.

It's apparently a problem.

It's turning into a nightmare, and dammit, I just can't deal right now.

Time to go meet the new overlo^H^H^H^H^landlords.

Justice.

So, many folks have rambled on about Geraldo. I will not add much to it, except for the fact that having him come back from the Middle East would be a shame. He did, however, receive some justice, military style, for his behavior over there.

He got Stinkpalmed.

Staley went on to say, "A handful of troops here wanted pictures with G and autographs. A few shook his hand. Others here wanted to harm him, were disgusted with him, thought he should have been sent home in a Humvee (a 40-hour drive south through the desert).

"We later found out a few who shook his hand had put those hands in unmentionable places prior. Army justice?"

Sucker.

Okay stop. Watch This. I'll wait.

Okay. Good. The guy himself has a Blog, too. [Update] Oh wait, It's not his blog, it's just the guy who's hosting the video. Hi, my name is Tom and I'm a recovering Dumbass. Thanks Dan for letting me know. It's a neat blog anyhow.

O'Reilly has a very good piece today on the Coming of Age of Digital Video. I've done videography since my Junior year of College when I started to produce highlight reels for Denison Swimming using Adobe Premiere and a VCR, making products that have ended up on MiniDV, VHS, SVHS, CD-ROM and now DVD, but since the beginning I've had the opportunity to invest in better hardware. I'm using a 3 CCD TRV-900 (albeit 3-4 years old, but still a stellar workhorse of a camera), a studio monitor, an analog to digital converter, iMovie (for now) and iDVD, but there is so much available. Derrick is spot on about this though, until MiniDV cameras become less expensive, DV on your desktop will remain less common. I sure love it though.

Taking On Hydra is a good review. I want to try this here in the office, I'm just not sure what use we'd have for it right now. I love the idea of a collaborative editing platform, especially in real time, but we kinda have that in our FirstClass system and through Instant Messaging over Rendezvous. When a project comes up that this will be cool for, I'll let you know.

Tom Watson, MP mentions a chat that Ann Clywd, MP will give on the Human Rights abuses by Saddam Hussein tomorrow at 2pm. In addition, he seems to have put comments on his site! Rock on. His blog is one of my daily reads, and is a very interesting viewpoint.

Geraldo is a Jackass. His apology isn't even sincere. Can we please arrange to have him "lost" somewhere? Why is it that good journalists die and Geraldo still lives?

Interesting thoughts on guns this morning, with special emphasis on the domestic situation in Iraq.

Wow. This guy is Angry. Wow.

A rant worth reading.

While it's not entirely compatible with my viewpoint of the situation (especially not the last two lines), this rant is a decent summation.
