Home again, home again.

So I have survived home to Arlington, once again worse for wear and distrustful of the newly emplaced legion of stormtroo^H^H^H security agents of the TSA. Apparently when I left, somewhere in my suitcase was my leatherman tool. I was unaware of this. I packed my bag late on Wednesday night, when I was more than a lot drowsy. Apparently the drones at Dulles didn't notice. But they sure did at Hartsfield, taking apart my bag in full view of all the others around, lumping my dirty socks and underwear out on the table for the people around me to see.

*sigh*

And I guess I'll be looking for that Leatherman on eBay, because the guy apologetically said I couldn't do anything else with it. I had to leave it with him, I couldn't mail it to myself since I was already through security, nor could I take it with me on the plane. Guess it's time for a new one. There should be a better method. There is a definite place for a niche business here. Take a credit card number and an address and the package will be at your office the next day. Entrepreneurs take note. I would have paid $20 today to ship that to myself instead of paying $50 for a new one.

I guess I'm frustrated that I'm no longer at all trusted by my own government. I've given them no reason for worry, no reason for extra distrust, to be felt up by some kid in a uniform in front of everyone because I got randomly selected is truly irking. More so knowing that I paid that kid to frisk me and wand me and search my bag.

To John Ashcroft and Tom Ridge: gentlemen, with all due respect, I know you are trying to do a service to your nation. However, I would humbly submit that you remove your own thick skulls from your rectums at this juncture.

As a network engineer who travels occasionally, though that may be frequently by the summer time, it would be nice to be able to carry my screwdriver sets, my leatherman, my crimper, these are not weapons people, nor am I the type to use them.

Yarr.

However, I must say, I was treated to a cool sight. Two Professional Yo-Yo Artists. There is a forthcoming entry on them coming, but will likely be tomorrow. Yes, there are professional yo-yo'ers. There are about a dozen of them. They can do crazy amazing things. Look for a picture and some thoughts tomorrow. Now, I sleep.
