The Democrats are ever so nice and decent, don't you think so? At least, now that Bush has 'won' (we are waiting to hear about the fraud later), he will have to go on with his 'hard work', he won't get better support from Europe and if he for once will do as he promised, i.e. reduce the taxes - the only thing he did not lie about during his previous presidency, he will increase his huge deficit even more and get the dollar into real trouble.
As said earlier, Kerry would not have made a difference in foreign politics, he certainly would have had more support for the war in Iraq, but he would have made a big difference for the Americans. The first thing Bush will do is to appoint new neocon judges and kick out more Democrats from government offices. I feel sorry for the American people. But this blog will continue its efforts for a free, democratic America. Tomorrow it's business as usual.
Bring him on!

Oh!pinion: "They're saying Florida has gone for Bush. Yet this evening we've heard, variously, that Florida has 250,000 and 1 million absentee ballots that won't be counted until Thursday. We doubted the million figure, but even so . . .
The way this is playing out is difficult to believe, given the really large voter turnout and the proactive determination of so many Americans - a whole lot of them Floridians - for a change of leadership.
This, from Florida, is just a little too quick and easy. It doesn't square with all the campaigning, all the new-voter registrations, all the turnout. Sorry, but we're suspicious about Florida.
Florida is, after all, governed by the president's brother, Jeb Bush. Florida has, after all, a Republican administration that has distinguished itself by screwing up elections, by wholesale disqualification and fairly large-scale discouragement of potential voters considered unlikely to vote Republican. Florida is, after all, largely if not completely employing e-voting machines that are by no means tamper proof or glitch proof, most of them providing no paper trail or other means of per-voter verification.
There's a really strong odor of rat to this."
Here is another voting story:
"When I arrived at our polling place in Southern California, about 300 people had voted. I asked for a paper ballot, saying I didn't trust the DREs.
The volunteers asked, 'Why?'
I said, 'I'm a programmer'.
We laughed.
But it was an old joke for them. They said nearly all of the 20 or so people requesting a paper ballot gave the same sort of answer."

Chicago SunTimes: "Standing against this democratic expression is a systematic Republican effort at voter suppression. The Justice Department reflects Attorney General John Ashcroft's sordid history of discriminating against minority voters rather than the department's historic role of enforcing the Voting Rights Act. Ashcroft has the department focused on 'voter fraud', an old Jim Crow trick, not on enforcing voting rights. The Internal Revenue Service has been unleashed, threatening the tax status of the NAACP for criticizing Bush, and calling major African-American ministers, trying to intimidate them from calling on the faithful to vote - even as Christian Coalition ministers turn their churches into Bush organizing centers.
Republicans have organized no effort to register minorities, but launched an unprecedented campaign to exclude the minority vote. They are organizing outside partisans to come to minority precincts and challenge the registration and vote of people they do not even know, notably in Ohio and Florida. If they challenge a big enough number, they figure, they will gum up the voting in minority precincts and discourage those who don't have the time to wait in long lines."
Dartmouth: "State Democrats reacted quickly when the Republican Party, trying to garner last-minute support with New Hampshire's swing voters, began paying part-time workers $75 this weekend to devote a day to the Bush campaign - especially in liberal areas like Hanover."

how does it feel?!?! your communist lost!! 4 more years!! 4 more years!!
bushie - 11/2/04; 10:30:46 PM"
I received the above email this morning. There are a few conclusions to be made from this.
First, the result is not definite yet. Bush has a lead, but the election is only over when all votes have been counted. And then we will have to ascertain whether and where fraud is involved. Bushies, of course, jump to conclusions; their wish is father to their thought.
Second, they are spiteful and enjoy a victory not for themselves but for the damage it could do to others.
Third, if Kerry is a communist, the Bushies must stand far on the extreme right, the fundamentalist side, the fascist side. Calling a capitalist like Kerry a communist is a bit thick.
Fourth, a Bushie is never honest, he likes to remain anonymous.
Fifth, '4 more years' of what exactly? Bushie does not say, and that has a reason: it would be four more years of war, corporate fraud, increased unemployment, environmental pollution, breakdown of civil liberties and freedom, budget deficits, healthcare cuts, unpatriotic politics, etc...
If Bush wins the election, I hope Bushie does not lose his job, will be able to pay his hospital bills, raise his children in a clean environment and does not have to send his children to a war.
The point is that this election was not about arguments, facts. The facts are unambiguously against Bush. But it was all about emotions. Bushies have no place for reason and argument, they can't cope with reality and therefore fall for lies, big words and drumrolls. And that is scaring.
Bushie, if your hero wins, don't come complaining afterwards, you will have asked for it.
(To my readers: please don't pester the guy by sending him emails - I assume it is an existing one. Radio Userland is working on a new comments server and comments may be affected later on, so I put Bushie's message on this front page.)
