Matthew:
And seeing the multitudes, he went up into a mountain: and when he was set, his disciples came unto him:
And he opened his mouth, and taught them, saying,
Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.
Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.
Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.
Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.
Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.
Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Isaiah:
Woe unto them that decree unrighteous decrees, and that write grievousness which they have prescribed;
To turn aside the needy from judgment, and to take away the right from the poor of my people, that widows may be their prey, and that they may rob the fatherless!
And what will ye do in the day of visitation, and in the desolation which shall come from far? to whom will ye flee for help? and where will ye leave your glory?

Christians are supposed to be followers of Christ. Bush does not heed the teachings of Christ, he is a false prophet.
Christians, Bush doesn't care about you, either.
"All fingers of blame for most impending disasters and war ills and social meltdowns point straight back to the GOP."

Baghdad Burning: "People in Falloojeh are being murdered. The stories coming back are horrifying. People being shot in cold blood in the streets and being buried under tons of concrete and iron... where is the world?
Iraqis will never forgive this - never. It's outrageous - it's genocide and America, with the help and support of Allawi, is responsible. May whoever contributes to this see the sorrow, terror and misery of the people suffering in Falloojeh."
IPS: "No country can justify torture, the humiliation of prisoners or violation of international conventions in the guise of fighting terrorism, says a U.N. report released here.
According to Francis A Boyle, who teaches international law at the University of Illinois, 'As White House counsel, Alberto Gonzales originated, authorised, approved and aided and abetted grave breaches of the Third and Fourth Geneva Conventions of 1949, which are serious war crimes.'
'In other words, Gonzales is a prima facie war criminal. He must be prosecuted under the Geneva Conventions and the U.S. War Crimes Act,' Boyle told IPS."
Nathan: "Here is how bad the Bush administration has become on treatment of immigrants. Even GOP-appointed judges are calling administrative decisions a disgrace."
ChicagoSunTimes: "A revolt against Bush administration attempts to speed up deportations for some immigrants is coming from an unlikely source.
The Chicago-based 7th Circuit Court of Appeals is one of the more conservative federal appellate courts in the country. But faced with horror stories of refugees tortured in their homelands, yet denied asylum here, 7th Circuit judges are overturning deportation orders and slamming the immigration judges and the Board of Immigration Appeals for ignoring claims of political persecution."

Michael Moore documents the disenfranchisement of great numbers of voters in Ohio.
Letter: "On Friday I received a phone call from a good friend who works at CBS - I've known her for years and she is a Producer for some of the news programs, one well known one in particular. She tipped me off that the news media is in a 'lock-down' and that there is to be no TV coverage of the real problems with voting on Nov. 2nd. She said similar 'lock-down orders' had come down last year after the invasion of Iraq, but this is far worse - far scarier.
She said the majority of their journalists at CBS and elsewhere in NYC are pretty horrified - every one is worried about their jobs and retribution Dan Rather style or worse. My source said they've also been forbidden to talk about it even on their own time but she was pissed and her journalistic and moral integrity as what she considers to be a government watchdog requires her to speak out, even if covertly, and she therefore asked me to 'spread' the word... She said that journalism and the truth is at stake."

FAS: "Americans can now be obligated to comply with legally-binding regulations that are unknown to them, and that indeed they are forbidden to know.
This is not some dismal Eastern European allegory. It is part of a continuing transformation of American government that is leaving it less open, less accountable and less susceptible to rational deliberation as a vehicle for change."
Gilmore: "On the 4th of July 2002, John Gilmore, American citizen, decided to take a trip from one part of the United States of America to another. He went to Oakland International Airport - ticket in hand - and was told he had to produce his ID if he wanted to travel. He asked to see the law demanding he show his 'papers' and was told after a time that the law was secret and no, he wouldn't be allowed to read it. He hasn't flown in his own country since. On the 16th of August 2004, John Gilmore filed his case before the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals. At stake is nothing less than the right of Americans to travel anonymously in their own country - and the exposure of 'secret law' for what it is: an abomination."

NYTimes: "The Pentagon is building its own Internet, the military's world wide web for the wars of the future."
CommonDreams: "The White House has ordered the new CIA director, Porter J. Goss, to purge the agency of officers believed to have been disloyal to President Bush or of leaking damaging information to the media about the conduct of the Iraq war and the hunt for Osama bin Laden, according to knowledgeable sources."
