Mark Fiore wishes the president good luck, 'he is going to need it'.
11:40:00 AM

HeatIsOnline: "Scientists are beginning to accept that Earth has entered a new geological epoch, the Anthropocene, so named because humans have come to rival nature in their impact on the global environment."
The virulent strain of the species Homo Americanus seems to infest the world economy as well.
Financial Times: "The dollar fell to fresh nine-year lows in trade-weighted terms on Thursday and gold prices reached a 16-year peak amid concerns over tensions in the Middle East and a renewed belief in the dollar's longer-term decline."
Why is the greenback floundering and why is it a cause for concern?

We know that in the past many journalists were prevented by corporate media ownership from reporting major news stories.
The cover-ups continue. What you find now in the mainstream press about employment is mostly rubbish, unemployment is reported to go down. It isn't.
GlobeAndMail: "Planned job cuts topped 100,000 for the second straight month in October, outplacement firm Challenger, Gray & Christmas Inc. said Tuesday in a report that raises more questions about the future of U.S. jobs.
If announced job cuts come in around 86,920 in the next two months, then 2004 will be the fourth straight year in which job cuts would exceed 1 million."
Another cover-up is the refusal by the press to pick up on the election fraud.
Mosnews: "A Russian parliamentarian taking part in international monitoring of the U.S. presidential elections has said that the elections were held in violation of U.S. law and that that he was shocked after seeing how the elections were held."
11:02:59 AM

RetroVsMetro: "Many of the voter suppression tactics reported in this election were apparently systematic and secretive, implemented at the highest level of state governments. The autonomy of states in running elections has left some calling for radical election reform that would, at the very least, require federal oversight of states' practices.
Voting rules vary by state. The highest election official is usually the secretary of state, who is elected on a party platform. This is controversial. 'In state after state, Republican officials and operatives are working to deny American citizens the right to vote,' says Leadership Conference on Civil Rights executive director Wade Henderson.
In the state that clinched this election, Ohio Secretary of State Kenneth Blackwell, the co-chair of the Ohio Bush/Cheney reelection campaign who is planning to run for governor next year, may have circumvented the Help America Vote Act of 2002 in severely restricting the use of provisional ballots in his state. Democratic state senators in Ohio are calling for Blackwell's resignation, saying the rule was meant to keep people of color and the poor, who move more often and are therefore more likely to have their polling places changed, from being able to vote."
