A picture named Turkey.jpg
Some call it the smell of victory, others a burnt turkey.

Guardian: "Iconic images inspire love and hate, and so it is with the photograph of James Blake Miller, the 20-year-old marine from Appalachia, who has been christened 'the face of Falluja' by pro-war pundits, and the 'the Marlboro man' by pretty much everyone else.
And this is Kerry's true gift to Bush: not just the presidency, but impunity. You can see it perhaps best of all in the Marlboro man in Falluja, and the surreal debates that swirl around him. Genuine impunity breeds a kind of delusional decadence, and this is its face: a nation bickering about smoking while Iraq burns."
Dan Rather feels pride when he looks at that picture. That is sheer decadence and depravity. All too common among the media pundits, the scourge of America.
JuanCole: "25,000 US Casualties in Iraq; 9% of Troops Put in Hospital or Killed. Over 2000 Iraqis Killed in Fallujah."
Aljazeera: "The Iraqi Red Crescent told reporters on Saturday that it has managed to deliver aid to the battle-wrecked Iraqi city of Fallujah.
However, a spokesman said that the organisation fears that more than 6,000 people may have died in the U.S. 0ffensive and that thousands of families are in bad need of assistance."
MoscowTimes: "No deep beliefs or high ideals inform the Bushist ethos, which can be boiled down to one sentence: Grab your pile and screw anybody who gets in the way. War, energy and corporate finance just happen to be where the money is at. And raw, secretive political power - unfettered by courts, laws, legislators or public scrutiny - is the most effective way to safeguard and augment these investments."
