"Beware when the great God lets loose a thinker on this planet. Then all things are at risk. It is as when a conflagration has broken out in a great city, and no man knows what is safe, or where it will end." --Ralph Waldo Emerson

Scorecard or Report Card?

I'm right. Whatever it is it isn't Report Card. The proper term would be Scorecard.

Well, okay. It might not be proper. And it might not be the exact, most correct term. But it is better than Report Card.

Today I met with the SESC region. This region consists of Emery, Grand, Carbon and San Juan School Districts. One of the questions asked by these technical folks was, and I am not making this up, "what the heck is a Report Card?" Followed by: "Are you grading yourselves?"

I explained that we are attempting to give a performance summary each month. Performance issues include number of service tickets opened, closed, pending, etc. Projects worked during the month. Pending projects. Contact information. Circuit utilization, CPU utilization and circuits with high bit error rates.

I also invited them to give input into the "Report Card" to include in the second revision. The interest for a monthly report is high. Just one thing. Don't call it Report Card. Call it the Monthly Performance Report, or the District Monthly Analysis, or the Network Analytical Review, or.......(my personal favorite) Scorecard..........
