Jim's Pond - Exploring the Universe of Ideas
"Beware when the great God lets loose a thinker on this planet. Then all things are at risk. It is as when a conflagration has broken out in a great city, and no man knows what is safe, or where it will end." --Ralph Waldo Emerson

Never Forget

My favorite way to get to Manhattan is on the Staten Island Ferry. This morning I rode into lower Manhattan sitting on the east side, watching the waves and the Brooklyn shoreline. It hurt too much to do otherwise.

Later, I rode back to Staten Island sitting on the west side of the ferry. I watched the skyline falling away. I miss the towers. I'm still sad about what losing them represents. The loss of innocent lives. The loss of brave women and men. Loss.

I promise. I'll never forget them.......
