St Peter healing the sick with his shadow

Hang on. I know San Felice in Piazza. I live next to it. It's just down the road. I know the column, too. It was erected by Cosimo Medici in...

1571.

St Peter Healing the Sick with his Shadow was finished in 1427, and what's more San Felice in Piazza doesn't have a bell tower. I know - I just checked. They've got the wrong church. They've got the wrong church.

Tomorrow, then, we start looking.
[Ben Hammersley's Dangerous Precedent]

Visiting Florence virtually. I'd rather be there....but this is pretty good....

Sao Paulo
Today I worked on a new piece that derives from the live performance of the song Sao Paulo. During the tour last year Jon came up with some fantastic bass lines for the performance of the song - a lovely legato intro, a funky strum and more. Well, listening to the music developing every night and coming up with some new guitar parts myself, I thought it would be great to work on a new piece that starts with those new elements - like a visit to Sao Paulo two years later. During a different season, in a different mood, with a completely new melody...

I started out with the guitar harmonics I played to introduce the song live, and then walked to the rim.....recorded myself scratching the guitar string with the nails of my right hand and turned that into a rhythmic element...recorded some chords, which I reversed or where I replaced the attack with a fade-in...turned out to be a great little intro...

I have about 12 to 14 songs ready for bass and Jon will receive his fretless Lakland on Monday....he even cancelled our racquetball game to stay home and wait for the delivery!!! As soon as he feels that he has adjusted to the slightly different scale length of the Lakland we will start recording...maybe Thursday, or maybe after I get back from Boulder.

6 tiered music distribution system for SSRI?
1. Free Downloads: to introduce people to our music

2. Music Downloads: purchase and download any song from the album for somewhere between $0.80-1.00/song

3. Subscription: Rough Mixes, Live recordings, QuickTime movies of soundchecks etc. - for members only: about $5/month

4. Regular CD album. Very basic package, simlar to nouveaumatic: $14-16/CD

5. Special Limited Edition CD package: Edition of 1,000 or 2,000, "the coffee table edition", specially designed package contains photos etc.: $20-40

6. Donation: donate $5 for every album you copy - because it is very expensive to make an album and you want the artists to continue their explorations in sound....

I think that about covers it, yes?
