My wife Susie thinks I am nuts for driving on my recent trip to Washington. I spent four of nine days on the road. But, for me, that was a big part of the adventure. I traveled alone and allowed myself to stop and explore. There were actually many more places I wanted to stop than I did stop. I met a lot of interesting people and had a number of great conversations on the road. The journey becomes an inner journey as well with plenty of time to think and reflect. Only on the surface, I think, can you get a sense of the immensity of our country and the general goodness of its people, except for a few of our drivers...
