Another day in Paradise
Steve Sloan's weblog. A bit tech, a bit bikes, a bit family, a bit friends, a bit scooters, a bit photo, a bit trains, a bit fun. Eight bits; that's a byte!

Sadness in San Jose

Shadow on couch with Kenneth

In today's paper I read about a couple in Jenner who were murdered on a beach. Recently, I watched my sister as she repeatedly gave herself injections as part of her chemotherapy. In a couple of weeks is the day that would be the birthday of my first wife who died in a car accident at 33. Given all that, you might think that the slow wasting away and possible death of an almost seven month kitten would not be a major heart breaking event. But, it is.

Pumped full of fluids, and after a plasma transfusion, Shadow came home yesterday. As time passed he slowed down, like a spring running out of wind. Life can seem so unfair at times. I guess that is the way it is. I guess that is one of the great truths of life.
