Barack Around the Clock

As Talking Points Memo points out, Alan Keyes is now one of the Republicans' top two choices to run against Barack Obama in the Illinois Senate race.

Whoever winds up as the Republican candidate will no doubt be labeled a sacrificial lamb.  But there's one campaign tactic that could turn the race in the underdog's favor.  In fact, Karl Rove is probably working on it right now.

Just dust off those attack ads used to defeat Max Cleland in 2002, in which Cleland was depicted as a comrade-in-arms of Saddam Hussein and bin Laden, substitute Obama's photo for Cleland's, and voila! -- Obama morphs into Osama.
