Check it out [posted by Troy] I've been working with Larry (one of our stellar librarians) to implement blogs for our library. They R awesome. Anyway, we got some very cool recognition from Jenny Levine's very popular (heavily read) blog, the Shifted Librarian. Happy Cinco De Mayo!

From the Crazy Liberal Files [posted by Troy]
  • Academy Award for Best Documentary, Bowling for Columbine: You may not like Michael Moore, but you have respect his skill as a film maker. If this one doesn't make you think, then you might as well join the Christian Coalition.
  • The Corporation"is resonating with audiences all over the world. The feature documentary analyzes the very nature of the corporate institution, its impacts on our planet, and what people are doing in response. Based on Bakan's book The Corporation: The Pathological Pursuit of Profit and Power."
  • Supersize Me, and he's not kidding. This guy explores the impact fastfood has on your body by actually eating it. He gains 30 pounds in a month. McDonalds has now ended supersized meals.
  • The Yes Men: How easy is it to pretend you work for the World Trade Organization? Pretty easy.

Mathematics [posted by ZelderBar] You see, there is a pretty important reason why the Cubs lost tonight. Basically, it boils down to the fact that throughout the course of the game, the Diamondbacks scored more runs than the Cubs did. Now, if the Cubs would've produced a few more hits, and therefore more runs batted in, then the Cubs would've produced more runs than Arizona. This would've produced a win for the Cubs and not the Diamondbacks. Unfortunately, Kim & I have witnessed two games in a row in which the ratio of runs by the Cubs to the runs by the Diamondbacks was less than 1. This ratio results in two losses for Chicago.

It's true. [posted by ZelderBar] Katie and Beth, tell Chad and Josh. Gall has long hair. I know it's been a few years since we've seen this apparition, but Forest Rump lives. From what I gather, he lives up north. Good to see an old roommate.
