I'm currently interviewing for 3 open positions in my department at Orbitz.com. We're looking for a good Sales person, a production coordinator or sales support and a Ad Trafficker. If you know someone who may be interested or would like more information feel free to e-mail me your questions or Resume at kcraig @ orbitz.com. Our technology dept is also hiring for a lot of IT type positions if anyone is looking in that field let me know.

The Humanities Aren't as human as they used to be [posted by ZelderBar] I attended my first class in my PhD program yesterday. I know that many of you are contemplating returning to school. Some for MBAs, some for bachelors, and and some for other degrees. I think that education is one of social instititutions that actaully has long-term impact on humanity, so far be it from me to discourage you from getting more education. However, our society has placed value on some areas of learning and less value on others. Check out this Village Voice article about our new generation of starving PhDs. It's clear that exploring the meaning of life pays less than learning how to add up debits and credits. Lesson: too much meaning bad.

A Chicago Institution keeps history alive [posted by Troy] Here is an article by Studs Terkel about his last book. It is especially worthy of note because of the article talks to Mamie Mobley, whose son, Emmett Till, was killed while visiting relatives in Mississippi in 1955. Till's murder played a key role in sparking the entire civil rights movement (see the PBS site).
