Cool Day [posted by ZelderBar] I spent the day today with other Moraine Valley people visiting the Chicago-based (but world renowned) artist Matt Lamb. Mr. Lamb gave up a life in the business world to be an artist, and he has done quite a job. His Umbrella Project is one of his best known works. We had a tour of his studio which was way cool. He said that he wanted to change the world and "formalize love" by using art as a medium of discussion. His best quote of the day came about when he was telling about his advice to people who ask how they can help. He tells them to "look at yourself. Maybe, you're an asshole...maybe, I'm still an asshole, but at least I am trying." Cracks me up.

Judo CHOP! [posted by Troy] Chances are only the readers in the Rock Island/Western Illinois area recognize Lane Evans, Congressman of the 17th Congressional District. I saw Lane today on CNN asking Rumsfeld how we can be sure that troops will not abuse more prisoners in Iraq. You see, Lane has Parkinson's disease (as does Michael J. Fox and Muhammad Ali), and it was great to see him up asking questions and representing the QCA despite this disease. He is the coolest, and he is an Augie grad. Makes me proud of the QC.
