City or Country? [posted by ZelderBar] Back in Cambridge, Illinois, we (at least my family) called the meal in the middle of the day "dinner" and the meal at the end of the day "supper." Then, I moved to Chicagoland and most everyone calls the noon-meal "lunch" and the evening meal "dinner." So ya see, I have to use the term "dinner" in different ways depending on where I am, and apparently urban folk do not ever have "supper." Kim & I have long debated the use of these terms...(read more).
