Sunday evening, Mr. N called me. My load assignment for Monday would be helping another dedicated company account in the greater Milwaukee, WI area. I actually would be filling in for the regular driver for the account since he was having some back-related issues (other drivers from the account I was associated with would be filling in as well for the rest of the week).
So today I arrived at the home location of the account, picked up my loaded trailer and proceeded to make 10 or so stops in the Milwaukee area. I met Mr. R who was charge of the account and he shadowed me at some of the stops to help out and give me pointers along the way. He's a good guy and actually was instrumental in helping get the dedicated account I am in off the ground some years back. I get more impressed with this company as time goes on.
The route went well and the time passed quickly. A lot of people at the stops were asking about Mr. B--the regular driver of the route. Everyone wondered where he was and was concerned about his back. That tells me they like their driver!
At the end of the day, I arrived back at where I had started in the morning, dropped the trailer, and then headed back to my home base.
Tomorrow, I've got a regular route with the dedicated account I'm assigned in to the Chicago, IL area. So it's up early tomorrow.
