Today's drive towards Chicago, IL saw the occasional rain shower and lighting show (in the distance). For the most part, the weather was very well behaved. (I think the major storm that was predicted for the morning hours stalled somewhere along the way to northern Illinois / southern Wisconsin as the weather forecast in the Chicago area called for some possible strong afternoon storms.)
I ended up missing an exit to my first (and only) delivery location. So, altogether I backtracked about 10-miles and proceeded on my way without incident. That's not too bad--if you miss your exit elsewhere across the nation, you may wind up driving up to 25-miles round trip to get back on track. (What's the longest missed-exit mileage you've driven?)
On the way back to the warehouse in Milwaukee, WI it only rained/drizzled a bit. At the warehouse, another veteran driver (35+ years) and I had a good conversation about the number of miles driven-per-week as well as truck leasing and truck ownership. Afterwards, I headed home well before noon.
I haven't been assigned anything yet for Monday. Hopefully the miles will be more than this week!
Oh yeah, my family watched "My Big Fat Greek Wedding" last night on television. That's the second time I've seen that movie and it was just as funny as the first time I saw it. If you haven't seen it, it's worth watching.
miles driven = 200
PostScript: Mr. T called with my load assignment for Monday. I've got two stops in the Chicago area.
