Light Show!
Today's early morning drive (in darkness) was highlighted by a great light show courtesy of a frontal system moving through the area. One lighting strike happened in front of me within 1,000-yards (or perhaps a mile--it was close). Actually it was a double-strike with 2-rapid instant booms. Scared the heck out of me! Later in the Peru, IL area, marble-sized hail fell.

Aside from it being windy on the way back to Milwaukee, WI, the rest of the drive went well.

Back at the warehouse I met a new driver who had questions about procedures (her first day on the job). She lamented the truck that she had been assigned was already due for her preventative maintenance (PM) checkup (which means that she'll lose some driving time for at least 1/2 or 1 entire day. Oh well, it's probably better that she does this now. That way she has another 25,000 miles to go before the next PM.

Tomorrow I'll be heading to Chicago in the early AM and then probably will head to either Minnesota or Iowa later in the day.
