Driver Pet Peeve
Today's drive to Fargo, ND started out partly cloudy. By the time I hit Eau Claire, WI, the heavens opened up yielding some fairly intense rain showers. Since the front was traveling south and I was traveling north, I encountered sunny weather once again after Minneapolis, MN. The rest of the drive was pleasant with scattered fluffy clouds.

Every driver (including truckers) has their favorite pet peeve about the misbehavior of other drivers. One of mine (grin) is when a vehicle passes you and then slows down for no apparent reason and then, in turn, causes you and everyone else behind you to slow down. One such vehicle did exactly that to me on I-94 between Minneapolis and Fargo. After slowing down, I then attempted to pass this 4-wheeler. However, the aforementioned 4-wheeler decided to speed up just enough to prevent me from passing him. Great. Now traffic was beginning to back up behind me. So, I returned to the slow lane at a safe distance behind him and turned my lights on (& hit my "brights") so that he knew that I was still behind him. That seemed to do the trick. After the backed-up traffic had passed us in the fast lane, he started slowing down allowing me to finally pass him. I'm not sure it was the bright lights that got his attention or not, but whatever happened (maybe his wife talked him into letting me go by!), he permitted me to pass him and both of us went on our merry way.

After fueling in Fargo, I headed into the truck stop for a bite to eat. The Flying J makes a good Chef Salad to go. That along with one of their shishkabobs and a bit of strawberry ice cream hit the spot.

Tomorrow morning I deliver in Fargo and then head on back to the warehouse. I should arrive back in Milwaukee around 7:00 PM.
