After a good night's (day's) rest, I picked up my assigned load at the warehouse in Lansing, MI. I would be going to the exact same place as yesterday (last stop) in Indiana.
The trailer was the same one I had a few days back and I was in charge of over 74,000 pounds going down the road. I do like the challenge of driving a fully loaded trailer down the road!
The 4th of July weekend will start in earnest tomorrow as people begin their traveling here and there. Today's driving wasn't too bad at all in terms of holiday traffic. After delivering my load, I hit a smallish traffic snarl heading back East on I-80 / I-94 (East of I-65). I really believe all road work done in this area should be done between the hours of 2:00 AM and 4:00 AM. Of course not much road repair would be accomplished but at least traffic flow wouldn't be effected as much!
Driving back towards Lansing I saw an orangeish 1/8 of a moon just above the horizon. Beautiful!
It looks like I'll be assigned here through Saturday before heading back home on Sunday. It will be good to see the family again and celebrate the 4th!
