After a refreshing sleep, I arrived at the Lansing, MI warehouse and received my driving assignment. I was assigned a delivery location not too far away from where I was yesterday in Indiana. After a short wait for the trailer to be loaded (another almost brand new trailer!), I found out that there was a stop added on to the shipment. It would be the 1st stop and I would be delivering it to Bolingbrook, IL.
On the way to Illinois, I was a bit more weary than the previous day. However, I expected that since my body was still adjusting to the 3rd shift schedule.
By the time I reached the Gary, IN area, traffic had thinned out a bit. I-80 / I-94 in the Illinois / Indiana area can be a real pain at any time of the day/night to drive. This evening, traffic was very ornery near the I-80 / I-294 area (heard via the CB radio). But, I didn't have to go that far! Rather, I turned North on I-94 and was surprised at how smooth traffic was flowing.
However, after delivering my shipment in Bolingbrook, coming back the same way was nuts! There was a lengthy delay going East (South) on I-94 due to construction. After clearing the logjam, I arrived at my 2nd and last destination where I dropped the loaded trailer, picked-up an empty trailer, and headed back to the warehouse.
I arrived back in the Lansing area as dawn was breaking. I dropped my empty trailer and headed to a truckstop, ate some food, and unwound before falling asleep. ZZzzzzzzzzz!
