2004 Presidential Election
The Des Moines Register is sponsoring a debate amongst the challengers for the Democratic Nomination for president tommorrow:
Sunday at 3:00 PM ET, CNN, Fox News Channel, and CSPAN.
Thanks to John Edwards' campaign for the heads up. Nice way for Denver voters to psyche up for the Colts game.
NPR is hosting a radio debate for the Democratic Presidential hopefuls on Tuesday. They're soliciting questions from the listeners.
Neal Conan and Michael Moore might be twin sons of different mothers. Moore carries a bit more weight.

Colorado Weblogs
Dave Kopel discusses the growing influence of weblogs on mainstream media in his column in today's Rocky Mountain News [January 3, 2004, "Kopel: Blogs unearth dubious sources"]. He specifically mentions, Walter in Denver and Talkleft. From the editorial, "It is because of Web logs that Trent Lott is no longer Majority Leader of the United States Senate, and it is Web logs that are now providing important checks and balances against distortions and errors in the major national media, such as The New York Times, Los Angeles Times and Washington Post. Here in Colorado, Web logs haven't reshaped the media landscape - yet. Even so, Colorado's best Web logs provide a very useful supplement to your media diet, providing you with news you may never find in the Denver dailies."
Update: Here's Walter in Denver's post about being at the top of the list of Colorados Best Web Logs, 2003 by Kopel.
He's (Kopel) correct about not having much influence on the Denver dailies, hell I can't even get 'em to keep their links from rotting.

Denver November 2004 Election
Here's an in-depth piece on Democratic candidate for the U.S. Senate from Colorado, Mike Miles, from the Rocky Mountain News [January 3, 2004, "Miles picks up pace in Senate race"]. From the article, "There's still a chance that former senator Gary Hart or another better-known Democrat could jump into the race. But Udall's announcement gives Miles at least a narrow window of time to convince party regulars that his is more than a symbolic campaign."
Luz Paz "Register to vote." Yup, that's the ticket.
