Denver November 2004 Election

Peter Blake writes about the possible Gary Hart run for the Senate against Ben Nighthorse Campbell in his column in today's Rocky Mountain News [January 10, 2004, "Blake: Even if he runs for Senate, will Gary's heart be in it?"]. Hart is vacillating after saying he did not have to fire to run a national campaign earlier this year. Blake thinks a Senate run will cost $10 million.

2004 Presidential Election

Wesley Clark is gaining on Howard Dean in New Hampshire according to the latest American Research Group tracking poll. Howard Dean still holds the lead nationally according to this recent Rasmussen Reports national poll. Thanks to Taegen Goddard for the links.

Here's the latest FOX News/Opinion Dynamics Poll. Yes, I'm a numbers junkie. Thanks to the Daily Kos for the link. The numbers show Howard Dean and Wesley Clark on top, 20% and 13% respectively.

Mike Littwin writes about the poll numbers showing Wesley Clark picking up support in his column in today's Rocky Mountain News [January 10, 2004, "Littwin: Voters listening, some shifting, to Clark"]. Says Littwin, "Clark likes to call himself the nonpolitician, but he says it in such a, well, political way. There's a new not-so-nonpolitician wardrobe - corduroy pants, duck boots and a red turtleneck shirt, instead of the blue suit and red tie. There's a new campaign speech, designed apparently to meet what some are calling a gender gap in Clark's appeal. Here's a tip from the Clark campaign: Some women apparently just don't enjoy talking about tank warfare."
