Jenny Levine - Shifted Librarian

For all of you out there that love librarians, here's an article about Jenny Levine the Shifted Librarian. Ms. Levine is one of my favorite reads. From the article, "Hard-core Web searchers can scour databases free, check out an MP3 audio book or sign up for e-mail news alerts, courtesy of tech-enabled libraries in Chicago's suburbs. The technology guru behind the scenes is Jenny Levine, Internet development specialist for Chicago's Suburban Library System, based in west suburban Burr Ridge. Her efforts to take libraries into the digital age started seven years ago, when she offered free dial-up Internet access for patrons of the Grand Prairie Public Library District in south suburban Hazel Crest."

Ms. Levine is convinced that people become librarians because they know too much. I love librarians especially Miss Ayres.

2004 Presidential Election

Mike Littwin is in New Hampshire covering Bill Bradley's endorsement of Howard Dean for the Democratic Presidential nomination [Rocky Mountain News, January 7, 2004, "Littwin: Howard Dean: baffling, irksome - and inspiring"]. Says Littwin, "Certainly, Dean's opponents are confused. The gaffes - and I know you keep your own list - haven't seemed to hurt Dean. The attack ads haven't seemed to hurt Dean. He set another quarterly record for raising money. He now has both Democratic candidates from 2000 on his team. The way it looks now, he's as solid as a Britney Spears' annulment."

Update: Wesley Clark has passed John Kerry in the American Research Group's tracking poll for New Hampshire. Thanks to the Daily Kos for the link.
