Even Netscape Indexes Weblogs
In what has to be a growing sign of the importance of weblogs, even the Netscape search engine (which is actually now Google) seems to be indexing radio.weblogs.com/* sites quickly. Here's how I know. I checked by referers today and I saw this:
http://search.netscape.com/search.psp?charset=UTF-8&search=http://www.google.com/technology/pigeonrank.html
The way I interpret that is that someone came to my silly little weblog from search.netscape.com. Since I only posted this April 1, I know that there was NO more than a 3 day delta from posting to indexing. Pretty cool. When I ran this search at Netscape myself, I came up as the last hit out of 15.
Now, even more interesting, is that www.scripting.com didn't show up at all. I'd like to know how their crawler is moving about or if this is a case of the index being out of synch on different boxes. Its also kind of surprising to me that I'm the only Radio site listed. I know that others must have linked to it. Strange...
