From the Sublime to the Ridiculous? Suprisingly, No.
On Sunday, Peter and I were at Yankee stadium for a Yankee's - A's game. A real gem with Clemmens vs. Zito.
Tonight Peter and I were at the Tropicana Dome for a Devil Rays - Tigers game. We were not expecting much from either team. However, it was a surprisingly well played game with the Devil Rays winning 2-0 with lots of highlights:
- Jim Parque of the Devil Rays took a no hitter into the 7th.
- We saw John Rocker make his debut with Devil Rays. I booed loudly.
- I got my first good look at Rocco Baldelli - the Devil Rays much talked about rookie. A very skinny kid who is very focused at the plate.
- The Tigers made some very nice plays. I think they're going to come around.
- I saw Kirk Gibson.
- The Tropicana Dome is actually not bad. I usually hate baseball in a dome. But this dome is not nearly as hideous as the Kingdome.
- We had great seats. Right off of home plate, ten rows back.

Jim Parque at the top of the 7th. He lost his no-hitter on this pitch.

Rocco Baldelli. A very hot rookie. However, I have my doubts as to whether he can continue to hit .345. He has no patience at the plate. I think he had 5 walks last year in the minors. But the crowd loves him and he's fun to watch.

John Rocker. One of my least favorite players of all time. In addition to being a racist jerk, I never thought he was that hot as a relief pitcher.
