Peter and I just returned from our annual Passover Seder at the Wolf's.
As always, it was fabulous. To a Gentile like me, Passover is a great
holiday. Good story line, lots of fun participation in the
recitation, good food (once you get past the geltefisk - mangled
spelling),etc. Just really wonderful.
The Seder Hagadah has tons of references to Spring - flowers and
fruit bursting forth, etc. That's pretty ironic - especially this year
when we still have three and half feet of snow on the ground.
Tonight's Seder was actually a day early - Passover actually starts
tomorrow at sundown. But schedules were an issue, so we we did the
Seder tonight.
Which worked out well because tomorrow night, we're doing a second
Passover Seder with another set of friends. At this rate, I'll have
this Hebrew stuff down pat.

Jim Parsons, a very dear long time family friend died early this
afternoon. Earlier this week, we received word that Jim was gravely
ill. We had no idea - I just saw him a few weeks ago. But Jim kept his
illness under wraps and continued to live life the way he always did.
He swam every day, he traveled to Washington DC with the Alaska World
Affairs Council ( Mom was also on that trip), he worked the Concert
Association events - Jim was truly a force of life.
Jim has been a part of my life since I was six years old. Jim would
have turned 80 years old in the few months. I will miss him dearly. I
can't imagine Anchorage without him.
