Man - we just got thumped by quite the jolt. This little quake hit very hard and quite suddenly - the ol' wrecking ball into the side of the house type of quake.
Fortunately, it shook for just a short period of time. It was either a medium sized quake located some distance from us or we were parked right on top of the epicenter. So my guess is either a measly 4.5 or a 6.2 if the quake was some distance from us. The Alaska Tsunami Warning Center has not yet posted the magnitude.
It certainly got my adrenalin going - but fortunately I had just poured myself my nightly snifter of Grand Marnier - so medicinal assistance was close at hand.
UPDATE: the preliminary magnitude was a really measly 3.8. However, as I guessed, we were basically right on top the quake - it was center just across Knik Arm at Point MacKenzie. And it seemed to be shallow - only 17 miles deep.
