The Cable Telephony/DLPS celebration party was a blast - we were out at the Kincaid Chalet. It was almost 70 degrees - sittin' outside at 8:00 PM in the bright sun, drinking beer, eating bbq, and having a great time.
The best line of the night came from Kerry, one of our young (actually, they're all young from my perspective) Outside consultants. We were hanging out around the picnic table when a mosquito buzzed by. Kerry exclaimed,
"Oh My God! Was that a mosquito? It's HUGE."
We all just laughed and laughed. As Gene stated,
"There's a reason why the mosquito is referred to as the Alaska State Bird."

So, I'm off to the first big picnic of the year - a celebration party for the big Cable Telephony project I've been working on for the past two years. And it convienently coincides with Cinco de Mayo - I sense that sun, beer, and guacomole are in my immediate future. Yum!

We set another record high today: 68 degrees!
I think Clemmie and I took our afternoon constitutional as the record was breaking. Man it was HOT!!!!!! Poor ol' Clemmie was panting away. It's tough being a big black dog when the sun is beating down.
This morning, my dentist told me, as I was having a tooth ground down to a nerve nub in preparation for a crown, that it was 80 degrees yesterday up at Big Lake. 80 degrees!!!!! In May (and early May at that!)!!!!
