This Memorial Day entry is in tribute to:
- My Grandfather Leland Kesler, who was a Second Lieutenant in the Army Air Corps in World War I. I have the giant wooden prop that belonged to his Jenny aeroplane.
- My Grandfather R.J. Thompson. He served in Headquarters Company 353rd Infantry Regiment, 89th Division in World War I from September 1917 to June 1919. He fought in the St. Mihiel (France) offensive and the Meuse-Argonne offensive.
- My Uncle Leland Kesler, a Lance Corporate in the Marine Corps. He died in the South Pacific during World War II. He's buried in the Punch Bowl (The National Memorial Cemetary of the Pacific) in Hawaii.
- My Uncle Richard Kesler, a Private in the Marine Corps during World War II. He was wounded in action.
