Today, we spent the most marvelous afternoon in Colorado National Monument. Now, "The Monument" is not to be confused with, let's say, The Washington Monument. It is not man-made. Rather it's a 20,000 acre spectacular landscape of sheer sandstone cliffs and giant monoliths.

We spent about an hour walking on one of the rim trails, taking lots of pictures, discovering tons of wildflowers including large areas of flowering cactus, having fun watching lizards change colors, peering over cliff edges and just gawking at the amazing view.

Here I am, framed by a cedar and sandstone.

From left to right, Mei-Ling, Wennie, Songya (sitting on the rock), Michael, and Carl.

And now for the tricky part - who's related to whom:

Mei-ling is Songya's Mom and Wennie and Michael's aunt.

Wennie is Mei-Ling's niece, cousin to both Songya and Michael, and Carl's girlfriend.

Songya is Mei-Ling's daughter, and cousin to both Wennie and Michael.

Michael is Mei-Ling's nephew, and cousin to both Songya and Wennie.

Carl, who is delightfully French, is Wennie's boyfriend.

Got all of that? There will be a quiz later on.

Songya took this picture. We were both inside a small little cave in the cliff face.
