One of the biggest weekends of the year is upon us - Solstice Weekend.
In Anchorage, the Solstice Weekend is actually a bigger deal than July 4th. We get very excited over the longest day of the year. The daylight is peaking right at around 19 hours and 21 minutes.
And what a fabulous 19 hours and 21 minutes it's going to be. As I type, at 8:00 PM, it is a gorgeous sunny evening and 70 degrees. Absolutely perfect.
Well, it's perfect, unless you're one of the 4,000 marathoners who will be running the Mayor's Midnight Sun Marathon tomorrow. It is definitely going to be too hot and sunny for those poor folks. Our house is perched on the last steep hill of the race at the 26th mile. So, we'll see pooped racers and walkers all day long tomorrow. It is really a lot of fun.
As I type, the Ski Boy and Son of Ski Boy are out playing golf. They should be done by around 11:00 PM. Clem and I are just going to hang out and enjoy the evening.
