Via, Maggie, I just took the book quiz at Blue Pyramid. Evidently, I am Anne of Green Gables:
Bright, chipper, vivid, but with the emotional fortitude of cottage cheese, you make quite an impression on everyone you meet. You're impulsive, rash, honest, and probably don't have a great relationship with your parents. People hurt your feelings constantly, but your brazen honestly doesn't exactly treat others with kid gloves. Ultimately, though, you win the hearts and minds of everyone that matters. You spell your name with an E and you want everyone to know about it.
I'd have to say that the description is not completely true - I have a great relationship my parents. But my shrink probably agrees with the "emotional fortitude of cottage cheese" assesment. However, to be honest, I always thought Anne (with an "e") was pretty darn tough!

As I type, we're coming up on the actual time at which Solstice occurs. I have to admit, that I didn't know that there was an actual hour/minute on which Solstice occured. But to quote The Wikipedia:
At the time of this [summer] solstice, the earth is in that point of its orbit at which the hemisphere in question is most tilted towards the sun, causing the sun to appear at its farthest above the celestial equator when viewed from earth.
So, this year's Summer Solstice occurs today, June 20th, at 4:57 PM, ADT. Which is exactly when I posted this entry.

Yet another gorgeous day! You know, Solstice weekend should be a three day weekend. The last two days have had the feel of a holiday.
My favorite quote from yesterday: Last night we (Peter, Alix, Seth, Erin, and me) had dinner downtown at Orso's. Downtown was totally packed with tourists and marathoners. It was so crowded that we even had to wait for seats just in the bar. The group whose seats we inherited were marathoners and were definitely moving slowly and stiffly. I brightly told them that the course went right by our house. They asked where our house was located. I replied that we were on the last steep hill about 1/2 mile from the finish. One of the women replied, "We hate you." It was very funny.
