Today's blizzard is tapering off, the temperature is dropping, and the north wind is picking up. There is nothing better than winter!!!!

Here at the Partnow Manse, we received about eight inches of snow. Further east towards the mountains, the snowfall was considerably higher. It's a marvelous winter wonderland!

It's such a marvelous winter wonderland that Henry II is spending the night at Peter's law office in the underground garage. Our cul de sac is unplowed. Eight inches of unplowed snow combined with a hill and a tricky corner is pretty much at Henry's threshold. When I came home at lunch to let out the poochie, the cul de sac was definitely a driving challenge. My driving philosophy in deep snow basically boils down to be aggressive but very aware. If you're driving a non-four wheel drive car and you stop or slow down in deep snow, you are flat out doomed. So, before you make your runt, thoroughly check for any other traffic or moose and when it's all clear let 'er rip.

As I type, it's snowing to beat the band!

I was up a 4:00 AM to let Clemmie out. There was nary a flake (other than Clem). But in the intervening 2 1/2 hours our predicited snowstorm moved on in.
