Last night's Oscar Gala was an absolute blast!!!!!
Our table of ten included Mom and Lowell, my best friend - Cheri, Phil and Layna, Nan and Bill, and Kristen and Chris. Just a super group.
Although, you might ask, "Where was the Ski Boy".
Well, yesterday morning, I put the Ski Boy on the plane to Palm Springs. He went down with one of his best buddies for a four day orgy of golf - 36 holes a day. ugh...
But, golf does seem to be in the air. Last night, I was the winning bidder in a live auction of two VIP Passes to the 2005 British Open. How about that???!!!! My winning bid was actually half of the book value of the passes - what a steal! I've never been to Scotland. And it is the British Open. Oh Boy!!!!!!
Anyhoo, our table had great fun being catty on the Oscar wardrobe front. For example, we were horrified by Gwenneth Paltrow's outfit. Johnny Depp was scary. Mom had never seen Prince before, so she had an agape moment he walked on stage. On the plus side, we thought Annette Benning and Kate Winslett were gorgeous. And wasn't Morgan Freeman just the best?
We were sort of agog at the "Beyonce Sings the Oscars" thing. What was up with that? At least she didn't sing along with Yo Yo Ma when he played the In Memoriam section.
So, here's a picture of Mom and me. It's not often we get to look glamorous together. I think I have the best looking Mom in the whole world!!!
