Whatever this bug is, it is certainly tenacious. I worked from home again today. However, I think I'm gonna try to go in to work tomorrow. If for no reason other than a change of scenary.
One decent byproduct from all this stupid viral stuff is that I've read a ton of good books. Yesterday, I finished Cryptonomicon a 918 page fictional tour de force of technology, WWII, crytography, love, the Marines, the Phillipines, you name it. I loved this book but would only recommend it to a few people. If you're not a math, technology, WWII, or crypto nut, you might find it a bit much. But the characters are absolutely wonderful. And it's the single best novel featuring technology I've ever read. Most techno based novels are tiresome and dated. This book was published in 1999 which is eons ago in the tech world. But it is timeless.
Prior to Cryptonomicon, I polished off a batch of books including Persepolis 2, the follow up to Persepolis. Both are graphic novels (no - not porn). Fabulous coming of age story.
Last night, I started the amazing Cloud Atlas which has all the makings of a Kesler Award winner - my annual prize to the best book I've read during the year.
