As I type, I'm actually in Anchorage!!!!!!! It seems like I've been gone forever - which is pretty much the case.
My bad travel karma continued to rear its ugly head this morning - my flight was scheduled to leave Seattle at 8:00 AM. A little before 8:00 AM, we pulled away from the gate, taxied our way down to the runway, made our little turn and the jets roared and we started our roll. And then, the jets quit roaring, our roll slowed down and we taxied our way off the runway and back to the gate.
Wheee...
As it turns out, a low oil pressure light came on just as we started the takeoff roll. Most likely it was just a sensor malfunction, but prudence was the better course of action. I was pretty pessimistic - my experience with these sorts of things is that once you taxi back to the gate, you're doomed. Your flight is cancelled, you're rebooked - usually on a flight that won't arrive until Midnight, and you end up in a middle seat.
However, in this case, we lucked out. The mechanics came out, tested, repaired, and retested - it was the sensor. So, after just a mere hour, we pulled back away from the gate, taxied to the runway and took off.
Yea!!!!
