Well, we're down to one duckling. sigh...That poor little guy is trying to hang in there. Tyge and I inadvertantly spooked him out of the bullrushes this morning. Tyge pulled over off the trail and picked a spot to do his business. That spot just happened to be within about two feet of the chick. The chick hightailed it for the water.
Tyge and I now know give that particular spot a very wide berth.

Ever since, the steak episode Tyge has been on a roll. He has become absolutely shameless about helping himself to anything on the kitchen counter. Of course, he usually won't go "counter shopping" while we're in the kitchen, but if we're in another part of the house, Tyge will usually sneak off back to kitchen and help himself to anything that might be available. We've quickly learned to NOT leave out anything edible, but now he's getting into stuff like papers, bags, etc. He doesn't eat them. He just shreds them while on the hunt for goodies.
His counter shopping has now moved beyond the kitchen. Yesterday, after lunch, I forgot to gate him in downstairs before I headed back to work. Well, when I got home, everything looked o.k. in the kitchen. But when we investigated the bedroom, we discovered that Tyge had snagged my toothpaste. He completely chewed off the cap and started trying to chew through the tube itself. Fortunately, my healthy toothpaste was not to his liking and he bagged the operation and moved on to other interesting items like my inhaler. Sheesh!
