The CCRA (the Candian IRS) has decertified the Israeli Red Cross, or Magen David Adom, as a charity eligible to receive aid from Canadians. The main issue seems to be the control over the funds collected. For the court, how Magen David ambulances are used is at the center of this. In fact Magen David helps people regardless of their religion or ethnic background.
Well, today in Iraq a Red Crescent (or muslim Red Cross) ambulance was used as a car bomb. Was that ambulance purchased with monies donated (and tax deductable) by Canadians? Can the Canadian Red Crescent prove that no monies ever go to benefit terrorists?
