NOT GUILTY PLEA: Carlos Guillen, Seattle Mariners

KIRKLAND, Wash. -- Associated Press reports Seattle Mariners shortstop Carlos Guillen pleaded innocent Tuesday to a charge of drunken driving. Officers said a portable breath test showed Guillen's blood-alcohol level was .093. The state's legal limit is .08. Portable breath tests are not admissible in court.

BOULDER, Colo. -- Colorado Daily reports University of Colorado football player Ron Monteilh will not be punished for his participation in a controversial football recruiting party last December, his attorney said Monday.

UPDATE: Allen Iverson Allegations

PHILADELPHIA -- Associated Press reports Allen Iverson had a gun when he forced his way inside an apartment last week and threatened two men, one of the men said Tuesday. The man claims Iverson had a black handgun in his waistband but he did not brandish the weapon. Police are investigating but no charges have been brought against Iverson nor have the police actually talked with him.

AUGUSTA, Ga. -- Associated Press reports Augusta National Chairman Hooty Johnson has issued a defiant statement about the privacy of Augusta National, lashing out at a national women's group Tuesday for urging the club to have female members before next year's Masters.

HERNANDO, Fla. – Associated Press reports Ted Williams asked in his will to be cremated and have the ashes scattered over the Florida Keys, the lawyer for a daughter of the baseball great said Tuesday. The lawyer, however, said he had not actually seen the will.

ARRESTED: Al Unser, Jr., race car driver

INDIANAPOLIS – Associated Press reports Al Unser Jr. was charged with domestic battery early Tuesday after a woman accused the two-time Indianapolis 500 winner of hitting her and leaving her on the side of an interstate highway.

ARRESTED: Najeh Davenport, Green Bay Packers

MIAMI – South Florida Sun-Sentinel reports former University of Miami standout Najeh Davenport, a fourth round draft choice of the Green Bay Packers, was arrested Monday for allegedly breaking into a university dormitory and defecating in a woman's closet. He was charged with a second-degree felony count of burglary and a misdemeanor count of criminal mischief, after surrendering to police. He was released Monday from a Miami-Dade County jail after posting a $6,500 bond. He faces up to 15 years in jail, if convicted.

ARRESTED: Gianluca Branco, European Super Lightweight Champion

ROME – Associated Press reports Gianluca Branco, the European super lightweight champion, and his brother Silvio Branco, a former boxing champion, have been arrested as part of a probe into a loansharking.

MLB STRIKE: Donald Fehr, MLBPA executive director

CHICAGO – Reuters reports the union representing Major League Baseball players did not set a strike date on Monday and said such a move would only be a last resort in their labor dispute. Major League Baseball Players Association Executive Director Don Fehr said no strike date was set and said he was "confident" an agreement with management would be reached.

USA Today reports steroid use among high school athletes has reached an all-time high as the young players seek to immulate their ripped heroes.

PHILADELPHIA – Associated Press reports an attorney for Allen Iverson met with police Monday to discuss allegations that the NBA All-Star threatened two men at gunpoint at a west Philadelphia apartment complex last week. Iverson's attorneys said in a statement they have provided information to police"and will continue to do so as needed."

LIFETIME BAN APPEALED: Tammy Thomas, former U.S. cycling team member

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Associated Press reports U.S. Cycle team member Tammy Thomas has asked for a hearing on the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency's proposal to ban her from competition for life because of a positive test for steroids.
