CITED: Edgerrin James, Indianapolis Colts

IMMOKALEE, Fla. -- Indianapolis Star reports Edgerrin James, running back for the Indianapolis Colts, has been ordered to appear in traffic court July 23 in Collier County (Fla.) on a citation alleging he was driving 111 mph in a 60-mph zone. James, driving a black Mercedes Benz, was stopped on the afternoon of May 8 in his hometown of Immokalee, Fla.

SENTENCED: Fred Edlestein, NFL handicapper

NEW YORK  -- New York Daily News reports Fred Edelstein, the high-living publisher of an influential NFL newsletter who used some of the biggest names in football to hustle investors out of almost $1 million, was sentenced Thursday to 21 months in federal prison.

UPDATE: Nike v. Culpepper

MINNEAPOLIS -- Minneapolis Star-Tribune reports an Oregon judge has prohibited Vikings quarterback Daunte Culpepper from honoring a sponsorship agreement with Reebok International, Ltd. until a lawsuit brought by Nike Inc. is resolved by jury trial.
