LASHINGS: Iranian Soccer Team
TEHRAN -- Reuters reports two members of the Iranian national soccer team have received dozens of lashes for "moral corruption" after being identified by videos and photographs found in a raid on an illegal Tehran brothel. One of the players received 170 lashes and the other 70. Six players were given cash fines.

MIAMI -- According to a report by Jason Cole of the Miami Herald, Dolphins' management is considering withholding defensive tackle Daryl Gardener's $200,000 off-season conditioning bonus after he failed to participate in more than 90 percent of the team's workouts.

OPEN RECORDS: Teddy Dupay, former NCAA basketball
GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- Former Florida basketball star Teddy Dupay is calling "ridiculous" charges against him contained in a campus gambling investigation that claims Dupay bet heavily on professional and college sporting events. The report, written by the University of Florida Police Dept. and obtained under an open records request by FloridaToday.com, includes statements by Dupay's former teammates that he openly spoke of his gambling and claims to document DuPay made more than 300 telephone calls to a bookie. The report also says DuPay's laptop computer contained links to off-shore gambling sites, numerous search requests for "handicappers," and trustedcasino.com as a bookmarked Web site.

REMAINS OF THE DAY UPDATE: Ted Williams
INVERNESS, Fla. -- Associated Press reports Ted Williams, in his will filed and made public Tuesday, said that he wanted to be cremated and his ashes scattered over the waters off the Florida Keys. But after Williams wrote his will, the Boston Red Sox legend and avid Keys fisherman expressed his desire to have his body frozen, according to the executor of his estate.

ARRESTED: Charlie Rogers, Buffalo Bills
OLD BRIDGE, N.J. -- Associated Press reports Buffalo Bills wide receiver Charlie Rogers was charged with punching a police officer at a bar and had to be subdued with pepper spray.
Rogers also is accused of spitting at two officers while being processed at police headquarters. He was released several hours later after posting $150,000 bail. He was charged with aggravated assault on a police officer, making terroristic threats to police and resisting arrest.

REJECTED: FOI Request in Jayson Williams Case
TRENTON, N.J. -- Associated Press reports state police rejected a newspaper's request to turn over tapes of the 911 call made after a limousine driver was shot to death at the home of former NBA star Jayson Williams. The tapes were ruled a part of a criminal investigation and therefore are not open to the public under the law.

SENTENCED: Olden Polynice, former NBA
HOLLADAY, Utah -- Salt Lake City Tribune reports former Utah Jazz center Olden Polynice will appeal his conviction on misdemeanor assault charges. Polynice was sentenced Monday to probation and community service in justice court for a run-in with another golfer at a local course last year. He immediately demanded a new trial.
