DES MOINES, Iowa -- Des Moines Register reports Iowa State basketball player Omar Bynum issued a public apology Wednesday for his arrest on charges of marijuana possession and operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated.

MOTION TO SUPPRESS: Damon Stoudamire, Portland Trail Blazers

PORTLAND, Ore. -- Portland Oregonian reports lawyers for Trail Blaxers guard Damon Stoudamire have filed a motion asking that any evidence found in the warrantless police search of Stoudamire's Lake Oswego home should be tossed out because the officers lacked probable cause to search the residence. Stoudamire, 28, pleaded not guilty in May to one count of possessing 150 or more grams of marijuana -- a Class B felony -- and is out on $5,000 bail.

INDIANAPOLIS -- Indianapolis Star reports Indiana Pacers forward Ron Artest faces two harassment charges and one criminal contempt charge in New York for violating a court order of protection by allegedly leaving the mother of his 16-month-old son a menacing phone message June 18.

PITTSBURGH -- Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports Marvel Smith denied he smoked marijuana when he was arrested two weeks ago in his hotel room in Tempe, Ariz.

PARIS -- Associated Press reports French skating judge Marie-Reine Le Gougne has dropped her appeal against her three-year suspension in the Winter Olympics pairs' scandal because she lacks the funds to fight her case.

ARRESTED: Jonathan Boyer, cycling

SALINAS, Calif. -- Associated Press reports Jonathan "Jacques" Boyer, a former Tour de France competitor, was charged with 10 felony counts of child molestation. Boyer, 46, of Seaside, Calif., was arrested May 16 after a 16-year-old girl told police he sexually molested her for several years. Boyer posted $300,000 bail and was released.

ARRESTED: Abdul Muhammad, former University of Nebraska

OMAHA, Neb. -- Associated Press reports former Nebraska football player Abdul Muhammad has been arrested on suspicion of trying to escape from jail by claiming he was someone else. Muhammad, 29, who had been free on bail, was taken into custody because a pending charge - possession of a deadly weapon by a felon - was moved to federal court last week.

CONVICTED: Kenny Hamlin, University of Arlansas

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. -- Associated Press reports Arkansas defensive back Kenny Hamlin has pleaded guilty to a second offense of driving while intoxicated. Hamlin was fined and given a 10-day jail sentence that he can fulfill through a work-release program, a judge's office said Thursday.

ARRESTED: Chris Terry, Carolina Panthers

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Associated Press reports Carolina Panthers offensive lineman Chris Terry appeared in court Thursday on a charge of assaulting his wife and was freed on $2,500 bond. Terry was arrested Wednesday evening after his wife, Nyquell Jackson-Terry, 29, told police he pushed her into a wall during an argument at their home in south Charlotte.

ARRESTED (AGAIN): Alonzo Spellman, former NFL

MOUNT HOLLY, N.J. -- Associated Press reports former NFL defensive lineman Alonzo Spellman, was arrested late Tuesday night on charges of ransacking his brother's house, breaking windows and smashing pictures. Spellman was in Mount Holly after failing to appear in court Tuesday in Dearborn, Mich., after being arrested July 16 on charges of drunken driving, driving with a suspended license and destroying property.
