Gary Hart started a weblog the other day as part of his presidential candidacy.  Obviously, this is just the beginning of what will be a rapidly growing trend for candidates to communicate directly with their constituents.

LondonYou have to pay to enter central London by vehicle.  Transport for London levies a congestion charge of five pounds for those who wish to drive through the area.  A network of 230 camaras checks your license plate to verify that you are in compliance.  The congestion charge applies from 7 am to 6:30 pm on Monday through Friday.  You can pay online up to 90 days in advance of entering the Zone.

One of the goals of the congestion zone charge is to encourage alternative transportation use.

Matt Webb has a plan for subverting the system to take control of London's traffic.

I drove by the new Utah County Health and Justice Building in Provo the other day.  They are making substantial progress.  Here's a live shot of the construction from the Utah County webcam.

The building will house the Health Department including Environmental Health, Human Services and WIC, the Justice Court, the Travel Council, a portion of the County Sheriff's Office, the Foster Grandparents department, and the Agricultural Inspection office. The building will include two auditoriums with outside access for night use.   As I look through these departments, there are still many opportunities to provide more online services.  One interesting service that the economic development agency provides is a search of available commercial buildings.
