The National Conference on Digital Government Research will be held on May 24-26 in Seattle, WA.  Topics will include:

  • Management and preservation of digital content
  • International collaboration
  • Interorganizational information integration
  • Finding Digital Government partners
  • Ecosystem informatics
  • Geographic information systems
  • Developing technology to aid public participation

A recent article in Baseline magazine details how Layton Construction has moved the management of its construction projects from a spreadsheet-based system to a more comprehensive construction management system.  The benefits both in terms of cost, management information, and time are tremendous.  The State of Utah does quite a bit of business with Layton who is one of the largest general contractors in the area.  Utah has also implemented a robust construction and maintenance management system that is supported by the Division of Facilities Construction and Management.  Here's a list of construction projects that were approved during the 2004 legislative session.  Here's a short article on how Utah is using Maximus' FacilityFocus to maintain its facilities.
